It’s fair to say nobody had A-List couple Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet on their bingo cards but over the years there have been some even weirder celebrity couples.

Some people just make sense together like Posh and Becks or Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds but Emily Ratajkowski and Eric Andre was not a pairing we ever thought we’d see.

The baffling world of celebrity means people who would never meet in the real world end up going on nights out together such as Harry Styles and Stephen Hawking – although we don’t believe they dated.

Whether it’s shocking breakups like Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, or chaotic short flings – looking at you Tyga and Avril Lavigne – there’s never a dull day in Hollywood.

We all make questionable choices when it comes to love but unfortunately for our favourite famous faces, these romances live on in pop culture history.

While 2023 was the year of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce bringing back the all-American couple, we look back at some of the most random celeb couples we can’t believe we forgot about.

Tyga and Avril Lavigne

Starting off this list strong because we all need to revisit this, we as a society moved on from this pairing far too soon.

Skater Boy icon, Avril, has one of the most random dating histories ever spanning from her marriage to Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger to Brody Jenner.

This February, she split with American rapper Mod Sun, having been engaged for a year after they started dating in 2021.

Avril hit headlines as she began dating Tyga, a controversial old flame of Kylie Jenner, sporting an $80,000 (£63k) custom necklace gifted to her by the 34-year-old.

After a whirlwind romance, the couple made the mutual decision to split in June with an insider saying the relationship has simply ‘run its course’.

Together no more but always in our hearts, this strange three-month romance will never be forgotten.

Cher and Tom Cruise

Epic, ridiculous, and lost to time, Tom Cruise and Cher’s relationship burned short and bright back in the early 80s.

The iconic couple met at the wedding of another random couple – Madonna and Sean Penn in 1985.

Cher was 38 at the time to Tom’s 23 and had already been married and divorced twice when the pair hit it off.

There are very minimal details on this one but in 2013, Cher went as far as to label the actor as one of her ‘top-five’ favourite lovers ever during a chat with Andy Cohen.

She admitted: ‘He wasn’t a Scientologist then. It was pretty hot and heavy for a little minute. He’s a great guy. The person that I knew was a great and lovable guy.’

Emily Ratajkowski and Eric Andre

In a baffling moment that nearly broke the internet, Emily Ratajkowski and Eric Andre posted *that* X-rated Valentine’s Day photo last year.

The comedian appeared to be Emily’s second flame since she split from husband Sebastian Bear-McClard in September 2022.

She had also been linked to SNL star Pete Davidson in November but her brief ‘situationship’ with Eric turned a few heads after he posted the naked picture of them both to his Instagram.

In an interview, Eric claimed he and the 31-year-old runway star thought the snap was ‘iconic’ and simply had to be shared with the world.

‘Emily popped up and took that picture. I was really in the moment, I was drinking wine, she started dying laughing, and she was like, “I have to take a picture of this”,’ said the comedian.

Unfortunately, days after the snap was posted, Emily hinted that she and Eric had called time on their romance in a cryptic Instagram story.

Alanis Morrisette and Ryan Reynolds

These two didn’t just date, Ryan Reynolds proposed to Alanis Morrisette in 2004 and she said yes!

The Canadian duo met at a party hosted by Drew Barrymore two years earlier and graced red carpets with so much PDA we’re shocked they ever broke up.

Sadly they called off their engagement in 2006 … before getting back together and breaking up again two years later.

‘They remain close friends and continue to have the utmost love and admiration for each other. They ask that their privacy be respected surrounding this personal matter,’ their reps shared in a statement to People at the time.

Her 2008 album, Flavors of Entanglement, addresses their fallout, especially with her track Torch and told Access: ‘It’s really about my grief.’

Ryan is now famously married to Gossip Girl icon Blake Lively, sharing three children together.

Keira Knightley and Jamie Dornan

Not even sure where to start with this crossover but yes, the Love Actually star and Fifty Shades of Grey actor dated for two years.

Jamie Dornan and Keira Knightly met in 2003 at a photoshoot and stayed together until 2005 but kept things totally low-key.

At this point, a relatively unknown Jamie hadn’t even starred in his breakout film role – 2006’s Marie Antoinette – but was making his name known as a model.

Keira, however, was on an upward streak as she had been in hit films like Bend it Like Beckham, Phantom Menace, and of course, Christmas hit Love Actually.

The relationship remained a secret until after they had broken up, with the A Haunting in Venice actor saying he had felt ‘pressure’ by the high profile nature of it.

Emma Roberts and Chord Overstreet

This one is for all the long-suffering Glee fans out there – remember when American Horror Story icon Emma Roberts dated Chord Overstreet?

The turbulent Ryan Murphy crossover relationship started in 2011, breaking up and getting back together regularly over the course of the next year.

Apparently, they couldn’t keep their hands off each other as she visited him in London following the Glee Live! Tour, going public during a walk in the park.

Bliss didn’t last long though as at the time the romance was called ‘really immature’ by a source speaking to Star magazine, who added the pair were constantly fighting.

In a random turn of events, the pair were spotted together in 2020 seeming amicable as they attended a party as friends.

Chord was also spotted with another famous Emma in 2018 – Harry Potter’s Emma Watson – although the romance ended after six months.

Renée Zellweger and Bradley Cooper

Maestro star Bradley Cooper and the Bridget Jones Diary icon met on set for the horror movie Case 39.

The movie was actually made in 2006, but stayed in post-production for three years, leading to a little reconnection and romance in 2009.

Renée Zellweger had also dated Jim Carrey at this point in another bizarre couple.

She and Bradley stayed together until 2011 but kept things super private despite invasive paparazzi pictures plaguing them constantly.

They reconnected once more in 2020 at the Oscars, happily chatting away and smiling so clearly things are perfectly civil.

Vanessa Hudgens and Josh Hutcherson

When you think of Vanessa Hudgens’ exes most of the time there’s only one name that comes to mind – Zac Efron.

Little do fans know, she also dated another Hollywood heartthrob – Josh Hutcherson.

Hunger Games legend and the High School Musical star dated at some point during their time filming 2012’s Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.

While the duo isn’t a wild leap to believe, the awkwardness around their breakup makes for a very strange romance indeed.

When asked if they were dating on the Today show in Australia, the silence was deafening until Josh uncomfortably answered: ‘We’re not… No. We were at one point, but she broke my heart.’

Realising what he said, Josh recovered and added: ‘I’m just kidding. That was a while ago, we’re just really good friends now.’

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx

For six years, Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx dated in secret (six years!)

She began the relationship after finalising her divorce from Tom Cruise in 2012, who she had married in 2006.

They decided to go public in 2015 but still kept things very private.

It wasn’t until 2019 that they decided to walk Met Gala red carpet together, posing for photos and smiling for the crowds.

The lothario Pete Davidson added none other than Kim Kardashian to his long list of beautiful conquests and had the reality star smitten from the get-go.

He has also dated Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale, Phoebe Dynevor, and Emily Ratajkowski, gaining a reputation for being one of Hollywood’s most random but irresistible crushes.

At 21 years her senior, Zach Braff dated Florence Pugh for around two years before the pair went their separate ways.

The Scrubs star and the Don’t Worry Darling actress seemed to be heading down a serious road as they adopted a dog together during quarantine.

However, in September 2022 Florence revealed they had split in private a few months prior.

The low-key former couple are said to be amicable after the break-up, highlighted by a message Florence posted hitting out at haters over their large age gap.

Madonna and Tupac

The raw sexual energy that radiates from Madonna means she could basically pull anyone she wants – maybe even Santa Claus after his stint on her tour.

However, Tupac Shakur and Madonna feels like a fever dream but we promise you this happened.

In 2017, TMZ posted a three-page love letter Tupac allegedly wrote to Madonna from prison in 1995, breaking up with her over her race.

The letter read: ‘But for me at least in my previous perception I felt due to my “image” I would be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was. I never meant to hurt you.’

Madonna did go on the record and confirmed their relationship in 2015, she told David Letterman: ‘I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time, and the thing is he got me all riled up on life in general. So, when I went on the show, I was feeling very gangsta.’

Avril Lavigne is set to be the latest artist to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it has been announced. 

The Sk8er Boi star will be the recipient of the 2,731st star on Hollywood Boulevard in the category of recording. 

The Canadian singer, 37, has sold over 40million albums throughout her career, beginning with her first record, Let Go, in 2002 which went septuple platinum. 

She had further success with triple platinum album Under My Skin, double platinum record The Best Damn Thing, as well as gold-selling records Goodbye Lullaby and self-titled album Avril Lavigne. 

Avril’s latest record, Love Sux, which was released in February, features rapper and pop-punk star Machine Gun Kelly, who is also due to speak at her star unveiling ceremony next week. 

As well as her latest honour, the Complicated singer also holds a Guinness World Record as the youngest female solo artist to top the UK chart.

Avril’s song Girlfriend was the first music video to reach 100 million views on YouTube and she has amassed a social media following of over 93.8million fans worldwide.

Her music career began at the age of just 16 after she was signed up for a two-album recording contract, which set her on her stratospheric rise. 

Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said of the decision to give Avril a star: ‘This isn’t Complicated, Avril Lavigne is very deserving of this Walk of Fame star and we are thrilled to be honouring her with this great honour.

‘Avril’s fans have been blowing up my phone asking when she will be getting her star. We are thrilled to say that the time is now.’

Avril’s star will be located at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard and will be unveiled at the ceremony on August 31.

Mod Sun’s fans reacted to the recent news surrounding the star’s ex-fiancée Avril Lavigne at a concert in New York City on Wednesday night. 

The Happy Ending singer was spotted cuddling up to new beau Tyga at a fashion week event in Paris shortly after she called it quits with the 36-year-old musician. 

At the show, a fellow rapper performed a verse to the supportive crowd that ended with the line: ‘F*** Tyga,’ which prompted the crowd to join in and a loud chorus of chanting ensued. 

In footage obtained by media outlet TMZ, ticket holders were seen chanting the obscene line back to the musicians onstage and pumping their fists triumphantly in the air.

During the crowd’s outburst, Mod Sun – real name Derek Smith – appeared to be embarrassed and also humbled at the apparent display of solidarity from his loyal fans following a difficult breakup. 

Rapper Travie McCoy kicked off the commotion in the audience when he gave a speech after joining the artist on the stage. 

He said: ‘I just wanted to give all the love I have in my heart right now to a brother, Mod Sun’.

The famous face then went on to describe how the two bumped into each other on Melrose Avenue following which they proclaimed their friendly love for one another. 

Travie continued: ‘I will say this: he is one of the three most loyal motherf***ers I have ever met in my life. F*** Tyga’. 

That final line caught fire and soon could be heard echoing throughout the venue as Mod Sun hide away in disbelief at the support he was being offered by fans. 

The performance came after the star revealed he was heartbroken at the failure of his engagement to the pop princess.

He penned an emotional message at the time on Instagram that read: ‘In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken.

‘Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage [sic]’.

Avril and Tyga were caught locking lips and putting on a cosy display at the Mugler x Hunter Schafer party during Paris Fashion Week.

The initial line-up for Glastonbury Festival 2024 left much to be desired and it seems organisers just can’t impress ticketholders this year.

Tickets sold out way back in October, with a lucky few grabbing extra releases in April – but the organisers have held out on releasing the line up until now.

More acts have been revealed with the likes of Squeeze, James, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, and the Snuts joining Coldplay and Dua Lipa at Worthy Farm.

Glasto organisers have shared the full set timings and finally confirmed the entire line-up — with over 3,000 acts performing across the festival weekend in June.

However, with set timings comes artist clashes and fans were quick to complain about some timing decisions they found ‘unforgivable’.

Idles will be competing with The Fontaines, Dua Lipa, and Jamie XX as Coldplay, Disclosure, and Jessie Ware all fight for the Saturday night headlining attention.

In a timing fumble (in Pride month no less), Janelle Monae, Avril Lavigne and rising star Baby Queen are all filling the Sunday 6pm slots.

Commenting on the official Instagram post, Chris Woodage vented: ‘Fontaines/idles clash is slightly unforgivable!’

‘Why are the clashes so bad,’ asked Perrie Sian while Harry Johnson said: ‘Why would you clash so many big artists? Coldplay/ disclosure, Jessie ware ???’

‘IDLES AND FONTAINS CLASH??What a joke!’ commented Kristian Whatcott.

A more measured response came from Simon Hawkins who pointed out: ‘A lot of people very upset that the whole lineup hasn’t been planned around their individual preferences.’

However, not everyone was lamenting the news asJack Webb on X said: ‘Overall better than I thought but the Saturday is woeful however I’m still extremely excited.’

Rosie Harrison added: ‘Very excited and the lineup is only one part of glasto for me but I do feel slightly underwhelmed by this lineup this year. It doesn’t really seem very current to me or like it’s really embracing new and diverse sounds as well as it could?

‘Where is Chappell Roan or Troye Sivan? Both been massive artists this year?’

In an overwhelming announcement, the iconic festival has added Seasick Steve, Jamie Webster, the Staves, the Skatalites, the Vaccines, Johnny Flynn, Rachel Chinouriri.

00s icons The Zutons, who were behind Amy Winehouse’s Valerie, will also take to the Other Stage alongside Avril Lavigne, Idles, and Two Door Cinema Club.

There are still a few ‘to be announced’ slots lurking on the line-up – most notably a mysteriously empty 6pm slot on the Woodsies stage on Saturday, June 29.

After huge backlash last year for the male-dominated headline bill, Glasto has made moves to bring female acts to the forefront.

SZA will be making history at this year’s festival, as it marks the first time in Glastonbury’s 54-year history that female acts have taken two of the three headline slots.

It’s Dua Lipa’s second time at Glastonbury but first time headlining, after she played the John Peel Stage back in 2017 – now called Woodsies – although many fans hoped she’d appear last year as a guest for Sir Elton John’s set.

Shania Twain will be filling the coveted Sunday teatime Legends slot, while the likes of US rock band LCD Soundsystem, British rapper Little Simz, 80s pop icon Cyndi Lauper, Keane, Nigerian singer Burna Boy, PJ Harvey, British soul star Olivia Dean and Paloma Faith are also set to perform on the Pyramid Stage.

However, the choice to bring Coldplay back to headline once again has been a sore spot for many ticket holders.

The band, who have been busy with their Music of the Spheres world tour, have officially become the first act to headline Glastonbury a record five times, after top of the bill appearances in 2016, 2011, 2005 and their first time, over 20 years ago, in 2002.

The band had also previously played the New Tent in 1999 and The Other Stage in 2000, so they are true Glastonbury veterans, pulling ahead of The Cure as four-timers.

Many of the smaller stages have announced line ups in previous weeks, with Russell Crowe set to play the Acoustic Stage on Saturday evening while Idris Elba flexes his DJ talents in the Stonebridge Bar.

The popular Avalon stage is hosting numerous throwback icons like Kate Nash, Lulu (before her retirement), Haircut 100, and The Feeling as well as new artists like Baby Queen and Caity Baser.

Charli XCX is heading to the Dance Stage with her Partygirl offshoot, while Shygirl is Thursday’s pop offering for anyone hoping to get on their feet before the festival kicks off properly.

The Arcadia will be flooded with DJs like Fatboy Slim,Eric Prydz, Andy C, Amelie Lens, and Barry Can’t Swim, along with a huge dragonfly replacing the iconic fire-breathing spider.

Goldie, Faithless and Camelphat will head to the Glade while dance-pop duo Confidence Man is doing four different sets – including a three-hour concept called Active Scenes at the Greenpeace stage.

The weekend will also host panel discussions at the Left Field stage debating topics such as trans rights, the Post Office scandal, the Israel-Palestine conflict, and of course the General Election.

It’s set to be a muddy one but when has that ever stopped Glasto-goers? The festival kicks off on Wednesday, June 26, running until Sunday, June 30.

Avril Lavigne’s ex-fiance Mod Sun put on a brave face as he was spotted in LA after reportedly being left ‘blindsided’ by the split with the Sk8er Boi star.

The Girlfriend singer, 38, recently split from fellow musician Mod not long after the pair became engaged last April.

While Avril herself has not commented publicly on the break-up, her ex-fiance issued a statement at the tie saying he was ‘broken’ and his ‘entire life [had] completely changed.’

Since the split, Avril has been seen spending time with rapper Tyga, with the pair heading out on dates while holding hands and snapped kissing while in Paris together.

Mod himself has been keeping a fairly low profile, and while a performance of his made headlines when fans began chanting ‘F*** Tyga’ he declined to join in and has not commented further.

Now the musician has been seen out and about in LA, and appears to be doing well as he went for a stroll in the sunshine, even flashing a quick smile as he was snapped by a camera.

In photos taken this week, Mod was seen carrying a cup of coffee and bottle of water as he enjoyed the balmy spring weather, rolling up his sleeves and loosening the buttons of his shirt to show off some of his many tattoos.

Mod, real name Derek Ryan Smith, took to the streets in his vintage convertible Cadillac, with the roof down to take in the best of the sunshine.

Artist Mod had proposed to Avril last year during a romantic trip to Paris, with the pair sharing photos of him getting down on one knee before enjoying a boat trip down the river Seine.

Taking to social media at the time, a smitten Mod wrote: ‘The day we met I knew you were the one. Together forever til our days are done.’

Months later, as news spread about the rumoured split, he again took to Instagram where he wrote: ‘In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken.’

Avril and Mod had been friends for years, and began a relationship while working on Avril’s new album Love Sux.

Avril has featured on Mod’s song Flames, and he has had her name tattooed on his neck.

Mod Sun revealed his utter heartbreak following his breakup with pop princess and fiancée Avril Lavigne.

The 35-year-old musician and chart topper, 38, split after two years together last week.

Mod Sun – real name Derek Ryan Smith – penned an emotional message on Instagram outlining how he felt about the recent breakdown of his relationship.

On Tuesday, he uploaded a gallery of images and videos that showed him performing on stage along with a caption that explained away the last week of his life.

He wrote: ‘In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken.

‘Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage [sic]’.

Fans offered their support for the heartbroken musician on the platform with one saying: ‘No matter what happens mod, remember 5 minutes from now could be your best moment. Don’t miss it. Love you forever my friend don’t ever ever give up [sic].’

Another noted: ‘You’ve faced bigger challenges in life and you always came out on top! She lost the best thing to ever happen to her and karma is real. You deserve better and I’m glad you will have a chance to find someone worthy of you king [sic].’

‘Avril’s fans are on your side and we are with you. We do not understand how she could have done this. she will realize that she have lost the best person she could have by her side [sic],’ was a message left by an account on the social media networking site.

Representatives for Mod Sun had already commented on the news, revealing that the artist and Avril ‘were together and engaged as of three days ago when he left for tour’, according to Page Six.

Despite reports that Avril called off their engagement after they had been ‘on and off’ for months – as per TMZ – the couple were spotted together at a pre-Grammys party earlier last month.

How much do you have to trust a person to let them randomly cut your hair one night while sitting on a toilet and filming it for millions of people to watch? Probably quite a lot.

Well, Avril Lavigne seems to have total faith in novice hairdresser Yungblud, as the musician gave the punk star a pair of scissors and… he got to work.

Avril, 38, is known for her long locks and has been since she burst onto the music scene with her debut album, Let Go.

But, her famous tresses are no more, as 25-year-old Yungblud – real name Dominic Richard Harrison – went all Edward Scissorhands on them.

‘No!’, the Complicated hitmaker screamed in the clip uploaded to Instagram, demanding alcohol before the fellow singer made the chop.

‘I need a beer, I need a beer,’ added a concerned Avril.

But, there was little time for her to truly panic as, before long, a giggling Yungblud had cut off one side of her hair.

Snipping the other side, he added: ‘I’m going to cut it into a bob for you!’

Now, we should point out that Avril probably had extensions and the whole thing was most likely a stunt for their new song, I’m A Mess, which Avril referenced in the caption, but still, you would not catch us in this position.

Besides, Avril’s fiancé, Mod Sun – real name Derek Smith – was rather keen on her new look.

Other fans were also living for the content, as one wrote: ‘I wanna see short haired Avril.😆😆🔥🔥’.

‘It looks amazing omg’, commented another, although something tells us Yungblud’s toilet salon won’t be getting five-star reviews anytime soon.

Avril later shared the single artwork for her collaboration with Yungblud, writing on social media: ‘I’m a Mess” with @yungblud out Thursday, November 3’.

With very little time to wait until the song is theirs to enjoy on repeat, the duo’s followers were sent into a frenzy with excitement.

Another penned: ‘Super excited been waiting for this collection for so long 🖤’.

Avril Lavigne and her new flame Tyga absolutely bossed Paris Fashion Week in matching leather outfits following the singer’s shock split from fiancé Mod Sun.

The Sk8r Boy hitmaker seemed to confirm the rumours she was romantically entangled with rapper Tyga as they kissed in public after she parted ways from her musician ex last month.

Tyga and Avril have been spotted together at various Paris Fashion Week events throughout the week, as fans began to speculate about whether there could be a blossoming romance between them.

This time, they stepped out in matching floor-length leather jackets – which screamed power couple – and they appeared to be close as the duo strutted into Y/Project runway side-by-side.

The pair accessorised their all-black outfits with chunky silver necklaces, and both sported some dark shades to complete the look.

Mod Sun  – whose real name is Derek Ryan Smith – dropped down on one knee in a romantic display in Paris last year, and although Avril hasn’t spoken out about the split, he has.

The 35-year-old took to social media to express his devastation at parting ways with the 38-year-old icon.

In an emotional post, he wrote: ‘In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken.

‘Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage [sic].’

At the time of their engagement, Mod Sun took to Instagram again and penned some sweet words for his then-beau.

He wrote: ‘The day we met I knew you were the one. Together forever til our days are done. I had a dream where I proposed in paris. I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes.

‘You’re too beautiful for my words to describe. I grabbed your hand + took one last breath…

‘I said “will you marry me?” + she said “yes”.’ (Ouch!).

The pair met in 2020 and they had allegedly faced issues over the few months preceding their split, according to TMZ.

Avril Lavinge has been spotted wearing a very relatable hoodie following her breakup with ex-fiance Mod Sun.

The 38-year-old icon and her producer and musician beau, 35, got engaged in April last year, but have recently split.

Now, it seems the Sk8tr Boy hitmaker is expressing herself via her clothes as she was spotted at a recent photoshoot wearing a hoodie which read the words, ‘I’m not doing s*** today’.

If that wasn’t enough of a mood, the eyeliner-clad star’s top also had a little ticked box, beside which was the words: ‘Mission complete’.

Move over Julia Fox, we have a new relatable queen in town – and she is really good at eyeliner. 

The star rocked the slogan with some chunky black boots, hood firmly up, and her choppy blonde locks falling out the side. 

The hoodie look comes as she uploaded Instagram snaps of herself boasting the look for Vetements, the brand behind the words.

Just 10 months ago, Mod Sun – real name Derek Ryan Smith – was writing delighted poems to his fiancé on Instagram after she said ‘yes’ when he dropped down on one knee on a romantic trip to Paris.

He penned: ‘The day we met I knew you were the one. Together forever til our days are done. I had a dream where I proposed in paris. I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes.

Sweet, but it wasn’t meant to be, as he took to Instagram again just yesterday to express his sadness that their engagement was no longer.

Alongside a mirror selfie, he said: ‘In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken.

‘Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage [sic]’.

The pair met in 2020 and their relationship moved quickly, but they had allegedly faced issues over the few months preceding their split, according to TMZ.

Rumours the pair had broken up were first reported in February by TMZ, and that same week Mod’s reps told Page Six: ‘They were together and engaged as of three days ago when he left for tour so if anything has changed that’s news to him.’

They also noted Mod will continue his tour: ‘The show will happen tonight and tomorrow and for the rest of the tour.’

Avril is set to begin her Head Above Water World tour later this month.

The Girlfriend singer is yet to speak out on the split.

Deryck Whibley has opened up about the ‘intrusion’ into his marriage and divorce from Avril Lavigne following Sum 41’s success. 

The musician, 42, was married to Avril, 38, from 2006 until 2009, with their divorce being finalised the following year. 

Deryk said that being in the high-profile pop-punk pairing brought more attention than he was prepared for, noting: ‘That felt more intrusive.

‘It became not about the music; it was my private life and gossip. And it was constant. You can imagine it was overwhelming.’

After the pair’s divorce, Deryk found things fell apart, adding to the Independent: ‘Around 2010 and 2011, the band started to implode a little bit. My drinking was bad… Everyone’s drinking was bad. It was drunks getting mad at other drunks for drinking too much.’

He revealed that the band’s use of alcohol had led to ‘resentment and anger’ and arguments between them, and he had become so dependent on it that he ‘couldn’t function’ and would get the shakes without drinking. 

His drinking ended up taking its toll and Deryck was rushed to hospital and put into an induced coma in 2013 after collapsing in his kitchen. 

The singer woke up three days later when he found out he ‘almost died’ after his liver failed and other organs were headed the same way. 

Deryck remained in hospital for a month and didn’t find staying sober difficult as his recovery had put everything he had been through into perspective. 

He explained: ‘I had nerve damage in my feet, which felt like I was walking on hot coals or broken glass, or both. It was like that for a year and a half. 

‘I was so out of it that I couldn’t form sentences and my motor skills were off. Drinking wasn’t even a thought because it was like, “How are we going to get back to normal?”’

Deryck has been sober ever since and has been married to Ariana Cooper since 2015, with the pair sharing a two-year-old child, Lydon Igby, while Avril is engaged to Mod Sun.

Avril Lavigne was described as ‘the epitome of a rockstar’ who had inspired ‘a generation of kids’ as she was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

The Canadian singer told fans to ‘follow your dreams, live your passion, express yourself and be real’ at the ceremony in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The pop star, known for noughties hits including Complicated and Sk8er Boi, signed her first recording contract at the age of 16 and has gone on to sell 40 million albums worldwide.

Taking to the stage to accept the honour, she showed a picture of herself as a teenager on her first trip to Hollywood, where she had visited the Walk Of Fame wearing her favourite hoodie.

Lavigne was then handed the same hoodie, which read ‘skateboarding is not a crime,’ which she then donned ‘for good luck and good vibes’.

Recalling the trip, she said: ‘I can remember seeing these legendary names and I never could have imagined that mine would be here, this is so crazy.

‘This is probably one of the coolest days of my life.’

She continued: ‘Today I love making music more than ever, I feel so inspired. I hope that the next 16-year-old from their small town who comes to Hollywood one day full of hopes and dreams sees this star and thinks to themselves, “oh my God, my name could be there one day too” – because it can.

‘Follow your dreams, live your passion, express yourself, be real, work hard, keep your head up, believe in yourself.

‘Thank you so much for this honour I am so grateful – to party with you all after.’

‘I love you guys, this is insane. What an amazing 20 years and I can’t wait for the next 20,’ she added.

Remarks were also given by US singer John Feldmann and rapper Machine Gun Kelly, with Kelly telling Lavigne that she had ‘been with me way longer than you know’.

‘You were with me all the times I got my heart broken, your music was in my head,’ he said.

‘You were an inspiration to a generation of kids like myself who wore baggy jeans and skated, and didn’t fit into MTV’s version of what the girls wanted.

‘When you made Sk8er Boi, that was the hope that we hung on like, “oh hell, yeah, we can stay the way we are, there’s someone out there looking for us”.’

Sharing memories of a performance in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, he recalled being driven by Lavigne on a golf cart through the stadium.

‘You were passing out Mike’s Hard Lemonades and drinking red wine, and you were the epitome of an amazing friend and a f**king rockstar,’ he recalled.

‘You are so far beyond any label that anyone could put on you … you’re so important.

‘Your songs will live far past any of our lifetimes so … congratulations on being Avril Lavigne.’

Lavigne’s discography comprises albums including the septuple platinum Let Go, triple-platinum Under My Skin, double-platinum The Best Damn Thing, gold-selling Goodbye Lullaby and gold-selling Avril Lavigne, and Head Above Water.

Her most recent release was her 2022 record Luv Sux, which features Kelly.

The singer also holds a Guinness World Record as the youngest female solo artist to top the UK chart.

Her hit track Girlfriend was also the first music video to reach 100 million views on YouTube and her social media following exceeds 93.8 million fans worldwide.

Awarded in the category of Recording, Lavigne’s star is the 2,731st on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, located at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard.

Avril Lavigne stepped out alongside new boyfriend Tyga after fans of her ex Mod Sun threw shade at the new couple during a recent concert.

Sk8er Boy hitmaker Lavigne, 38, was snapped holding hands with her new beau Tyga, 33, following a night out together at LA hotspot Catch Steak on Thursday.

The pair co-ordinated in matching all-black outfits and accessories as they enjoyed a date at the West Hollywood eatery just days after fans of Lavigne’s ex Mod Sun aired their anger over the couple during a concert.

On Wednesday, chants of ‘f*** Tyga’ could be heard during Mod Sun’s, real name Derek Ryan Smith, latest concert in New York City.

Fans can be seen chanting and raising their fists in videos from the concert, reported by TMZ, after Gym Class Heroes star Travie McCoy took a jab at the rapper on stage.

He said: ‘I just wanted to give all the love I have in my heart right now to a brother, Mod Sun.’

McCoy, 41, then went on to describe how the two bumped into each other on Melrose Avenue after which they proclaimed their admiration for one another.

Travie continued: ‘I will say this: he is one of the three most loyal motherf***ers I have ever met in my life. F*** Tyga.’

In the videos, Mod Sun, 36, does not address the crowd about the comments.

Lavigne and Mod Sun began dating in 2021 before getting engaged last April.

The pair called things off in February, with Mod Sun sharing an emotional message online about the split, describing his heart as ‘broken’ and that his ‘entire life completely changed’.

‘In 1 week my entire life completely changed… I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken,’ he wrote on his Instagram page.

‘Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage.’

Glastonbury 2024 provided us with a beautiful weekend of sunshine and music, and line-up rumours for Glastonbury 2025 are already swirling.

The Worthy Farm music festival saw Michael J Fox take to the stage with Coldplay, some serious love for pop sensations Sugababes, and Louis Tomlinson helping everyone keep up to date with England’s game against Slovakia.

After four days of singing and dancing (and camping), it’ll now be another 12 months before Glastonbury returns – giving us plenty of time to speculate over who’ll be headlining the Pyramid Stage in June 2025.

Dua Lipa was first up this year on Friday, before Coldplay headlined on Saturday for a record fifth time, before SZA closed out the weekend on Sunday evening.

But with eyes already looking ahead to next year, who are the acts that could be sitting at the top of the bill when the Glastonbury 2025 line-up is announced?

Taylor Swift

Where else can we start but with the current Queen of Pop herself, Taylor Alison Swift? Currently in the middle of a sell-out worldwide stadium tour, Ms. Swift is no stranger to ginormous crowds.

And Taylor was all ready to play Glastonbury 2020, alongside Sir Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar, before that festival was cancelled after the outbreak of the Covid pandemic.

Sir Paul and Kendrick both headlined the Pyramid Stage in 2022 when the festival resumed following lockdown, but Taylor has been too busy jetting off around the world to grace the stage at Worthy Farm.

With the Eras Tour set to conclude in December 2024, that would give Taylor six months off before Glastonbury 2025. There’s unfinished business for the Love Story singer at Britain’s biggest festival.

Madonna

By all accounts, pop legend Madonna was lined up to play Glastonbury 2024. The organisers had teased her involvement and bookies odds on her headlining were incredibly short.

But then, when the line-up was announced, the Into the Groove singer was nowhere to be found, with SZA unexpectedly appearing as a Sunday headliner instead.

The reasons for Madonna’s absence aren’t currently clear, but fans have speculated that it might have something to do with her recent health battles, which threatened her Celebration Tour.

While she was still able to complete the tour, her family begged her not to ‘push herself’, which would explain why she might have decided to pull out of Glastonbury once Celebration was over.

Come 2025, Madonna could be ready to go.

Sam Fender

Sam Fender has been one of the rising stars of British pop in the last decade, with two number one albums released in 2019 and 2021 and a run of successful singles.

And it might well be his time to headline Glastonbury, with betting experts putting him at 4/1 to lead the line-up on the Pyramid Stage in 2025.

He’s already played big festivals all around the UK and has completed several sell-out tours too. With a handful of chart hits to his name and impressive streaming figures, it might be best to strike while the iron is hot.

In May, Sam said he was hard at work on a third album, which means he’ll have several more hits to add to the setlist if the call comes from Emily Eavis.

Eminem

Eminem headlining Glastonbury 2025 feels like something that’s been long overdue. Arguably the biggest name in rap for 25 years, Marshall Mathers is still topping the charts and selling millions of copies.

The reason for Eminem’s absence from Pyramid Stage line-ups in that past is down to the sad fact that Glastonbury and rap music haven’t always got along.

Jay Z headlined the festival in 2009 but the decision to have him headline was met with much criticism by the likes of Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher.

But since then, the likes of Kanye West, Stormzy, and Kendrick Lamar have all rocked the Pyramid Stage with rap and have gone down well with the viewers back at home.

So with Eminem back in the charts and gearing up for another album later this year, maybe 2025 is the year when the real Slim Shady will stand up at Worthy Farm.

Spice Girls

The Spice Girls headlining Glastonbury at some point in the near future feels like an inevitability at this point – maybe 2025 could be the year it finally happens.

This year, Mel C surprised fans at Worthy Farm when she appeared on stage during Orbital’s set on the Park Stage, with some calling her the ‘best surprise guest’ of the entire festival.

Bookies odds on the five girls headlining the 2025 festival – or at least making an appearance – were slashed when they were spotted hanging out at Victoria Beckham’s 50th.

So, could Sporty, Posh, Baby, Scary, and Sporty be on the Pyramid Stage next year? According to Mel C, who spoke to Radio X after her surprise appearance, said there was ‘room’ for a potential Spice Girls reunion at the festival.

Bon Jovi

Before Guns N’ Roses headlined in 2023, loud rock and roll had been fairly absent from Glastonbury in recent years – but Bon Jovi could be about to change that in 2025… as long as they get the call.

John Bon Jovi, who started the band in 1982, admitted in a recent interview with Metro.co.uk that he’s rarely been asked about it: ‘I’ve never had the chance. I was never offered it.’

He continued: ‘I never went to Glastonbury but I heard about that legend slot. I’m aware of the festival obviously. But I never went… I feel like it would be pretty legendary. Let’s think about it, for 2025.’

Before Guns N’ Roses’ headline set last year, you’d arguably have to go back to Foo Fighters’ show in 2017 to find the last full-on rock act to play the Pyramid Stage.

Liam Gallagher

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is currently 9/2 to headline the Pyramid Stage, with a ginormous back catalogue sure to please fans at Worthy Farm.

Liam, who topped the charts several times as part of Oasis for 15 years with his brother Noel, still performs the band’s classic hits to this day.

And he’s no stranger to massive crowds with his work since Oasis split in 2009, with side-project Beady Eye and heaps of solo material proving successful as well.

Oasis headlined the Pyramid Stage twice, in 1995 and then again in 2004, while Liam has performed on the Other Stage and the Pyramid Stage in 2017 and 2019 respectively.

Perhaps it’s time now for Liam to headline the Pyramid Stage on his own, with all four of his solo albums going to number one and keeping his status of being one of the biggest names in British music.

Sugababes or Avril Lavigne

Sugababes and Avril Lavigne’s sets at Glastonbury 2024 went down a storm, with the 00s nostalgia in full swing during their impressive comeback performances.

But their sets went over so well that they might have gone over a little too well, with some fans locked out of their shows due to crowd control risks and the potential of overcrowding.

Surely this means that both Sugababes and Avril deserve a higher billing in 2025 if they choose to come back. They’d definitely draw a bigger crowd than the one SZA pulled during her Sunday evening slot.

Between them, Sugababes and Avril have six UK number one singles and five UK number one albums between them, with over 400 weeks spent in the charts combined.

And judging by clips of their Glastonbury 2024 performances, they both sound as good as ever. Maybe it’s time to give them top billing for Glastonbury 2025.

Olivia Rodrigo

Much like previous headliners Oasis, Billie Eilish, and SZA, Olivia Rodrigo might only have two albums to her name, but that shouldn’t stop her taking to the Pyramid Stage.

Bookies have her at 9/2 to grace Worthy Farm with her presence in 2025, with the former Disney star currently one of the biggest pop acts in the world.

The Glastonbury organisers have pursued the teenage market more and more in recent years, with the likes of SZA and Billie Eilish headlining, and Olivia’s potential appearance could be another example of that.

Avril Lavigne has reportedly ended her engagement to Mod Sun.

Mod, real name Derek Ryan Smith, popped the question last April when the pair were visiting Paris.

The songwriter is said to be ‘blindsided’ by 38-year-old Avril’s decision to end their relationship. Mod, 35, met Avril in 2020.

The musicians allegedly faced issues over the last few months and called it quits on more than one occasion before Complicated crooner Avril reportedly called time on their romance once and for all.

Addressing split rumours, first reported on this week by TMZ, Mod’s reps told Page Six on Tuesday: ‘They were together and engaged as of three days ago when he left for tour so if anything has changed that’s news to him.’

They also noted Mod will continue his tour, adding: ‘The show will happen tonight and tomorrow and for the rest of the tour.’

Musician and producer Mod proposed to the Sk8er Boi legend with a romantic gesture while the pair were on holiday together in Paris, France, ten months ago.

Taking to social media at the time, a smitten Mod wrote: ‘The day we met I knew you were the one. Together forever til our days are done.

‘I had a dream where I proposed in pairs.I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes. You’re too beautiful for my words to describe.

‘I grabbed your hand + took one last breath… I said “will you marry me?” + she said “yes”.’

At the end of the sweet poem, Mod wrote simply: ‘I love you Avril.’

The 44-year-old Canadian rocker opened up about the alleged sexual abuse he endured at the hands of former manager, and mentor, Greig Nori, in hisbiography, Walking Disaster: My Life Through Heaven and Hell.

The singer, who is currently on a farewell world tour with his band, formed Sum 41 in 1996.

Soon after the Treble Charger frontman Nori became the band’s first manager after he ‘taught them to become better writers and recorded demo after demo for them,’ according to Nori’s official website.

The website describes him as ‘the driving force behind the band’ but the picture Whibley has painted tells an entirely different story of alleged grooming, sexual and verbal abuse which reportedly began when he was 16 and Nori was 34.

According to an excerpt from the novel shared with the Los Angeles Times, Nori established ‘total control’ over the group in the early days and said he was ‘the only person [they] could trust’.

One alleged encounter shared in the book saw an 18-year-old Whibley invited into a bathroom stall by Nori to have a drop of ecstasy. Whibley claimed Nori then ‘passionately’ kissed him and he walked away ‘stunned’.

Whibley explained that Nori reportedly told him that he had never felt same-sex attraction before but ‘[Whibley] brought it out in him because what [they] had was so special’.

As Nori allegedly tried to convince him their relationship was worth exploring because so many of Whibley’s ‘rock idols were queer’.

He then recalled Nori reportedly calling him homophobic, mentioning that he ‘owed’ him and trying to turn the tables on who started the relationship.

The pair eventually grew more distance as Sum 41 started touring but it was only after Whibley started dating Avril Lavigne (the couple were married between 2006 and 2010) that he confided in someone for the first time, and Lavigne told him he was ‘sexually assaulted’.

Although the sexual advances reportedly came to an end after a mutual friend told them both it was ‘abuse’, the psychological and verbal abuse allegedly ramped up with tactics including pitting the band against one another.

After encouragement from Whibley, Nori was eventually ousted from the band in 2005 after they released their third studio album, Chuck.

Whibley has not informed any of the former or current band members about the abuse allegations nor has he contacted Nori, even though he felt he should at times.

‘You know, I don’t owe him anything,’ he told the LA Times.

‘I’ve had an inner battle, like, ‘Why do I want to tell him? Because I feel like I’m supposed to? Because he still has this thing over me?’

‘He controlled everything in my life, but even the rest of the guys through the band. We were all under his wing. Me more, obviously. But he was such a controlling person.’

‘I always thought that I would take this to my grave and I wouldn’t say anything,’ Whibley added to Rolling Stone.

‘As I started getting into the book, I felt like, “How could I not be honest?”‘

He added that it was ‘so intertwined’ with his world for seven years and he felt he would be ‘lying’ if he didn’t address it.

He also shared that the reason he had avoided confronting it for so long was because he didn’t want to have ‘victim issues’.

He is still in the ‘early stages’ of processing what he views as ‘very manipulative’ behaviour and that the extent of if ‘only dawned on him’ when he himself his his mid-30s.

‘He was a hero so to see that power dynamic, you see how you can manipulate a 16-year-old kid,’ he concluded, saying that ‘readers’ can see it as ‘abuse but he describes it as ‘some s***y thing I went through.’

As for the band, their farewell world tour comes to an end in Toronto, Ontario on Janaury 30, 2025.

They announced the news of their split after 27 years in May 2023 in a heartfelt social media post.

‘Being in Sum 41 since 1996 brought us some of the best moments of our lives.

‘We are forever grateful to our fans both old and new, who have supported us in every way. It is hard to articulate the love and respect we have for all of you and we wanted you to hear this from us first,’ they wrote before breaking the bad news of their final tour and album.

In a recent interview Whibley also shared he would love to reconnect with the former frontman Jon Marshall who was in the band between 1996 and 1997 before leaving with no contact.

‘He was my best friend, then he left the group never to be seen again,’ Deryck recalled to the Daily Star. ‘Nothing at all. I would like a “goodbye!”‘

Avril Lavigne is feeling nostalgic as she reflects on a major milestone: 20 years since the release of her debut album, Let Go.

In 2002, a then-teenage Avril shot to international stardom with one of the most iconic albums of its time.

It featured classic tracks including Sk8er Boi, Complicated and I’m With You, and inspired a whole generation to wear dark eyeliner, baggy clothes and (at least attempt to) try skateboarding.

Now, 20 years later, Avril, 37, is engaged to boyfriend Mod Sun, has released seventh album Love Sux, and is preparing to go on a world tour.

But this week she went back to where it all began: a street corner in New York City.

The star took to Canal Street in the Big Apple where, aged 17, she had posed moodily for the album cover of Let Go as cars and pedestrians passed her by.

Taking to TikTok, Avril shared a video of the moment she returned, again dressed in baggy black clothes, standing out on to the pedestrian crossing and folding her arms.

The video then faded away and was replaced by the original Let Go album, allowing viewers to see the resemblance.

Funnily, Avril didn’t use one of her own songs from Let Go as the background music for the clip, but instead chose emo coming-of-age anthem I’m Just A Kid by rockers Simple Plan.

The band was among the thousands of nostalgic fans who took to the comment section to mark the stunning milestone, writing: ‘This is amazing! Happy 20th Aniversary!’

Avril’s fiance, Mod, also wrote: ‘This is so amazing!’ while influencer and journalist Liam McEwan wrote: ‘This album is such a staple for the generation.’

The clip has proven massively popular online, having been liked well over 1.2 million times since being uploaded just 10 hours earlier.

Earlier this month, Avril again took to social media to celebrate 20 years of Let Go, where she spoke about the ‘monumental impact’ the album has had on her life.

She wrote: ‘It’s hard to try and comprehend how, 20 years later, the songs I wrote as a 17 year old would still resonate with people today.’

She recalled how Let Go ‘took me places I never in my wildest dreams could have ever expected,’ adding she is ‘thankful for it every single day’.

Mod Sun  – whose real name is Derek Ryan Smith – dropped down on one knee in a romantic display in Paris last year, and although Avril hasn’t spoken out about the split, he has.

The 35-year-old took to social media to express his devastation at parting ways with the 38-year-old icon.

In an emotional post, he wrote: ‘In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken.

‘Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage [sic].’

At the time of their engagement, Mod Sun took to Instagram again and penned some sweet words for his then-beau.

He wrote: ‘The day we met I knew you were the one. Together forever til our days are done. I had a dream where I proposed in paris. I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes.

It’s not the first time the pair have been linked following Avril and Mod Sun’s split, as the Daily Mail also reported they arrived at Leonardo DiCaprio’s party at Kuku restaurant in Paris together last Thursday.

While the SK8r Boy hitmaker has remained tight-lipped on the breakup, her ex – whose real name is Derek Ryan Smith – hasn’t.

Avril Lavigne has spoken out against a ‘dumb’ conspiracy theory that she was secretly replaced by a body double at the beginning of her career.

The 39-year-old shot to worldwide fame at the age of 17, thanks to her iconic debut single, Complicated, in 2002, and has rarely been out of the spotlight since.

After a string of number one songs, she will be releasing a greatest hits album and heading off on a tour around the world – including a stop off at Glastonbury Festival in June, before a string of UK, Europe and US performances.

But there are some who are convinced that it’s not actually Avril who will be hitting the stage, but a lookalike named Melissa.

She has been plagued by a bizarre rumor that she died following the release of her debut album, Let Go – with record executives somehow finding a doppelganger to pose as the Sk8er Boi singer.

During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the princess of pop punk laughed off the bizarre speculation, attempting to dispel it once and for all.

‘It’s just funny to me,’ she told host Alex Cooper. ‘On one end, everyone’s like, “You look the exact same. You haven’t aged a day.” But then other people are like, there’s a conspiracy theory that I’m not me.

‘Honestly, it’s not that bad. It could be worse, right? I feel like I got a good one. I don’t think it’s negative or anything creepy.

‘It could be worse!’

As the presenter tried to dig into the claims, suggesting they were more ‘prominent’ than similar rumors, Avril laughed: ‘Obviously I am me, it’s so dumb.

‘I think that they’ve done that with other artists, I’m not the only one. I think other people have that.’

This isn’t the first time that Avril has touched on the Melissa theories, as she was previously questioned about her reaction to the scrutiny in 2022.

She told Galore Magazine at the time: ‘Doesn’t everyone constantly say that I literally look the same as I always have? 

‘It’s funny because everyone says I look the same, but then there’s that. That doesn’t make any sense. Also, how random? When people bring it up, and it’s been brought up to me for years, that there’s this conspiracy theory that I’m not me or something? I’m a clone?

‘It’s so weird that it’s continued to go this long too. It’s so bizarre, I can’t help but laugh at it!’

Avril – not Melissa – has a busy few months ahead, as she just announced her Greatest Hits album will be hitting the shelves on June 21, packed full of some of her most loved songs, including I’m With You, When You’re Gone, Girlfriend and Don’t Tell Me.

Not only that, the Grammy-nominee will be taking the Greatest Hits album on the road, with her tour kicking off on May 22 in Vancouver – before heading to LA, Las Vegas and Chicago.

She will then be heading over to Europe for dates in Croatia, Holland, France and a series of appearances in the UK – including stops in Bedford, Manchester and Cardiff.

Glastonbury Festival’s final day has come and gone with sound issues galore and a divisive closing night headline act from SZA.

The American singer-songwriter SZA’s festival debut was affected by sound problems which negatively impacted her microphone quality and vocals.

The singer also faced a small crowd compared to the previous headliners, Dua Lipa and Coldplay, and she struggled with fierce retaliation on social media after a set with no guest cameos and little interaction with the crowd.

SZA followed a busy line-up throughout the day but many other singers struggled with their sound system set-ups as well.

Shania Twain brought her all for the Legends slot earlier in the day but fans pointed out vocal troubles also plagued the country legend. It comes a day after Cyndi Lauper also suffered from technical issues and wardrobe difficulties.

Meanwhile, Janelle Monae roused the crowds with a passionate speech about standing up for ‘marginalised people’ as she celebrated Pride month.

And Avril Lavigne took packed-out crowds on a nostalgia trip with her Other Stage Glasto set singing hit tunes such as Girlfriend and Complicated.

Paloma Faith also wowed fans with her performance after being hit with health issues earlier this week. She paid tribute to Amy Winehouse with a short rendition of Back to Black.

Elsewhere, Princess Bea was spotted chowing down on a scrumptious-looking sandwich, Cara Delevingne was smooching her partner Minke and Florence Pugh crashed a Shaun of the Dead interview in the best way.

And in a plot twist no one expected, Louis Tomlinson was hailed the hero of the day after setting up an actual TV during the England Euros match after the festival banned official screenings.

That’s all from Glastonbury 2024 as music fans already look toward next year for another fun-filled festival.

Avril Lavigne has seemingly confirmed a romance with rapper Tyga after the pair were spotted kissing during a Paris Fashion Week show, just weeks after she called off her engagement to Mod Sun.

The duo was in attendance at the Mugler x Hunter Schafer party on Tuesday where they were seen sharing a kiss in front of the cameras.

They put their arms around one another, appearing relaxed together, with rapper Tyga, 33, gently cradling Avril’s neck during the embrace.

The 38-year-old also held his hand as they made their way through the party.

Let Go chart-topper Avril was dressed in an oversized black hoodie with an embellished logo and thigh-high patent black boots, finishing off her ensemble with fetching glittery green eyeshadow.

Meanwhile, Taste hitmaker Tyga, whose exes include Kylie Jenner, was in a matching grey denim ensemble, black sunglasses and neck bling.

Avril and Tyga, real name Michael Ray Stevenson, have been spotted together recently on multiple occasions, including reports that they arrived at Leonardo DiCaprio’s party at Kuku restaurant in Paris together last Thursday.

The Sk8r Boi icon and her ex-fiancé Mod, 35, got engaged last April before ending things in February.

Avril hasn’t publicly addressed the split but her ex – whose real name is Derek Ryan Smith – has shared his upset.

In an emotional post at the time, he wrote: ‘In 1 week my entire life completely changed… I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken.

‘Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage.’

The pair met in 2020 and their relationship moved quickly, but they had allegedly faced issues of late, according to TMZ.

Mod dropped down on one knee on a romantic trip to Paris last year, and enthused about his new fiancée in an Instagram post at the time.

‘The day we met I knew you were the one,’ he began.

‘Together forever til our days are done. I had a dream where I proposed in paris. I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes.

‘You’re too beautiful for my words to describe. I grabbed your hand + took one last breath…

‘I said “will you marry me?” + she said “yes”.’

Avril, who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last summer after a 20-year career in music, is set to begin her Head Above Water World tour later this month.

Avril Lavigne is seemingly being showered with expensive gifts from new beau Tyga following her split from fiance Mod Sun.

The Girlfriend singer, 38, recently split from fellow musician Mod after the pair became engaged last April.

While Avril herself has not commented publicly on the break-up, her ex-fiance issued a statement saying he was ‘broken’ and his ‘entire life [had] completely changed.’

Since the split, Avril has been seen spending time with rapper Tyga, the pair heading out on dates while holding hands and snapped kissing while in Paris together.

Now Tyga has reportedly gifted Avril with a unique necklace worth $80,000 (£66,000) after several dates.

My World singer Avril has been spotted wearing the bling in recent days, which bears her name along with anarchy symbols and skulls-and-crossbones.

Celebrity jeweler Eric Mavani told TMZ that the rapper gave the custom-made chain to Avril this week.

It supposedly features 50 carats of white diamonds, black diamonds and pink sapphires.

The jeweler told the outlet that Tyga had reached out to him about the custom chain three weeks ago, right before Paris Fashion Week, where the pair were spotted kissing.

While Avril and Tyga appear loved up, not everyone is happy.

On Wednesday, chants of ‘f*** Tyga’ could be heard during Mod Sun’s, real name Derek Ryan Smith, latest concert in New York City.

Fans could be seen chanting and raising their fists in videos from the concert after Gym Class Heroes star Travie McCoy took a jab at the rapper on stage.

He said: ‘I just wanted to give all the love I have in my heart right now to a brother, Mod Sun.’

‘I will say this: he is one of the three most loyal motherf***ers I have ever met in my life. F*** Tyga.’

Lourdes Leon rocked a very risque look as she joined a star-studded list of celebs at this year’s  Victoria’s Secret ‘The Tour’ in New York City.

The 26-year-old model, who is the daughter of global pop icon Madonna, 64, was among those celebrating the return of the lingerie brand’s legendary runway show.

This marks the first show in four years, features supermodels including Naomi Campbell and Winnie Harlow, as well as a performance from Doja Cat.

Lourdes bared all in a sparkly spider web esque dress with her bare chest exposed and a black thong.

Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon turned heads on Wednesday as she wore an extremely revealing outfit to a Victoria’s Secret World Tour launch at The Manhattan Center in New York.

She also accessorised her double-taking look with sky high black platform sandals.

Model Gigi Hadid brought the sunshine in a neon yellow dress, while actress Emily Ratajkowski stunned in a black leather co-ord.

Other stars in attendance were supermodel Naomi Campbell – who dazzled in a short gold number.

Meanwhile singer Avril Lavigne went full dominatrix in a black leather jacket and bold statement choker necklace.

According to People, Lourdes striking outfit ‘instantaneously molds to the body, adopting the heat of the wearer within 15 seconds, and is both comfortable and strong.’

Lourdes has appeared in campaigns for Savage x Fenty, Mugler, Tom Ford, Burberry and more as well as appearing in a Stella McCartney advert for perfume Pop.

She also followed in her mum’s footsteps and released music last August, with her five-track EP, titled Go, under the stage name Lolahol.

At the end of last year, Lourdes proved the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when she released a raunchy music video to accompany her explicitly titled song, C**tradiction.

The singer is the oldest of Madonna’s six children and her only one with Carlos Leon, a Cuban actor and the star’s former personal trainer.

One of the internet’s favourite conspiracy theories has been making the rounds online again following the announcement of the Glastonbury 2024 lineup, which includes pop-punk star Avril Lavigne.

The singer, 39, joins SZA, Coldplay, Dua Lipa, and a variety of other acts for the iconic music festival. But will it be her or her body double performing?

Joanne McNally’s new BBC Sounds Podcast is tackling that very question. The craziest rumour in show business goes something like this: Singer Avril Lavigne died after the release of her debut album in 2002 and has since been replaced by a lookalike who has continued her career for nearly a decade. 

Sound ridiculous? Of course it does. According to McNally, 40, that’s what makes it so addictive. 

The comedian’s new series, Joanne McNally Investigates, has released three episodes to date unpacking the crazy rumour, which began in 2011 when a Brazilian blog called Avril Está Morta (Avril is Dead) first posited the theory. 

The Irish comedian explains the theory as this: 17-year-old Lavigne skyrocketed to stardom in 2002 with the release of Let Go but soon struggled to cope with the fame. After the death of her beloved grandfather, the singer took her own life, leaving adrift the music industry execs who were counting on her earning potential.

Now, according to the rumours, the person who dated singer Tyga last year and just announced a new tour isn’t Lavigne at all.

Instead of finding a new act, the record executives hired a doppelganger named Melissa to pose as the Sk8er Boi singer As McNally puts it in the podcast, they just couldn’t let go of their ‘money horse’ (she quickly and hilariously realises she meant to say cash cow). 

While the theory sounds absurd on the surface, there are just enough strange details to make one question if there really could be some truth to the story.

As McNally explains it all to her sceptical guest, comedian Gearoid Farrelly, 46, in the six-part series’ first episode, he surprises himself by beginning to buy into it. 

Details include Lavigne’s changed handwriting over the years, a noticable shift in appearance and even height, and an altered speaking voice. Plus, sharp-eyed fans once noted that she had ‘Melissa’ written on her hand in an interview, as if the doppelganger was sending out a silent cry for help. 

It’s an enticing story and McNally knows it, combining her dry wit with genuine curiosity as she attempts to get to the bottom of it all.

In the second episode McNally even travels to Lavigne’s hometown, a tiny suburb in Canada, and interviews people who knew the singer before she was plucked from obscurity at just 14. Her high school teacher describes Lavigne as ‘full of energy’ and the man who now owns the house Lavigne grew up in laughs heartily as McNally’s suggestion that he may secretly be Lavigne’s father.

While McNally uncovers very little in the way of concrete evidence, it’s a fun ride that ends up speaking more to McNally’s skill as a host than it does to any kind of hard-hitting journalistic breakthroughs. Mostly, it’s a joy to listen to small-town Canadians attempt to understand the Irish comedian’s accent.

McNally manages to keep listeners engaged despite her lack of breakthroughs, ultimately examining the effects of fame by interviewing comedian Joe Lycett, 35, who ruminates on how stardom has affected his life. 

The pair discuss the phenomenon of celebrity body doubles and even explore testimonies from people who have found employment pretending to be celebrities, opening the podcast up to a fascinating wider discussion of fame. 

In the third episode McNally talks to presenter Dave Benson Phillips, 59, who was the subject of a death hoax some years ago. They talk about the way conspiracies catch fire online, making several salient points about the nature of internet echo chambers and how celebrities cease to be real people.

All in all, McNally’s new show is excellent entertainment. Whether she cracks the case of Avril Lavigne’s alleged death remains to be seen, but it doesn’t much matter with a host who’s as much fun as McNally.

Glastonbury fans have been left furious after declaring Avril Lavigne should have been given a slot on the Pyramid Stage.

The long-running music festival wrapped up on Sunday, with this year’s headliners being Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA.

On Sunday evening Avril, known for 00s hits like Sk8ter Boi, Complicated and Girlfriend, also played the Other Stage, with a packed crowd seeing the Canadian singer take them on a nostalgia trip.

However soon after many declared that the 36-year-old should have been given a bigger billing.

‘The fact that Avril Lavigne isn’t headlining is criminal. With a career spanning over 20 years and being the mother****ing princess she should be on the pyramid stage and headlining Glastonbury,’ X user MJ declared, referencing her 2007 single Girlfriend.

‘They made a huge mistake not putting Avril Lavigne on the pyramid. She could’ve quite easily had the legends slot,’ Jake posted.

‘They should’ve put Avril Lavigne in as the Sunday Pyramid headliner. The crowd she had was insane!’ Ellie shared.

Many said the massive crowds wanting to watch her was evidence enough.

‘Avril Lavigne should have been given the Pyramid Stage at Glasto. Huge sea of people trying to see her, mad rush,’ Phoebe explained.

‘So many people who were there said there was no room they were packed in like sardines trying to see her plus she didn’t get enough TV air time at all,’ Stacey added.

On Sunday, the acts to play the Pyramid Stage were Seasick Steve, Paloma Faith, Shania Twain, Janelle Monae, Burna Boy and SZA.

However complaints about the stage Avril was placed on were echoed by fans of other performers.

With more than 200,000 people descending on Worthy Farm every year to attend the festival, crowds are to be expected, but over the weekend it became clear the crowds had become dangerous, with some stages being closed off because of high attendance.

On Friday, Sugababes fans were fuming after massive crowds stopped them from seeing the popstars perform.

Many fans were turned away by security in an attempt to stop the show from becoming dangerous.

The band performed at the West Holts stage, one of the bigger stages at the venue. In 2022, the Sugababes performed at the Avalon stage, an even smaller venue that was also overcrowded because of the girl band’s popularity.

In a similar incident, on Friday night, huge crowds arrived to watch Charlie XCX’s DJ set at Levels.

The area was closed off after huge queues formed outside and the stage reached maximum capacity.

The same night, overcrowding at Bicep meant that the act was forced to pause the set and ask the crowd to step back, later halting the set after serious safety concerns.

Bicep said in a statement after the incident: ‘Apologies to everyone that came to see our CHROMA AV DJ Set last night in Block 9.

‘Due to crowd safety concerns our set was paused. We’re sorry to anyone who was disappointed by the situation night, which was completely outside our control. We hope to be able to come and play for you again soon.’

Addressing overcrowding in a statement to The Guardian, Glastonbury said it had ‘a robust, dynamic crowd management plan to protect the safety of its crowds, working closely with all of the relevant authorities, with measures put in place both in anticipation of and in response to crowd movements.

‘Our plans include close monitoring and the ability to pause and stop artists where appropriate, as was the case for Bicep’s set at IICON, where a swift show-stop was managed effectively.

‘Major artists wanting to perform at smaller stages with limited capacities is part of the magic of Glastonbury. This can mean some fans will be disappointed, but our crowd management plan always puts safety first.’

Katy Perry stole the spotlight in a risky ensemble at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, setting the tone for a star-studded evening.

Flaunting her toned abs and black lingerie beneath a fishnet dress with daring side slits tied with red ribbons, Perry, 39, paired the look with high black leather boots and a wavy hairstyle.

The Dark Horse singer presented SZA with the award for song of the year for Kill Bill and was later seen singing along to Cher and Jennifer Hudson’s performance of Believe.

She also delighted fans by excitedly filming up-and-coming singer Tate Mcrae’s performance at the ceremony, with many online jokingly calling Perry a stage mum.

Perry wasn’t the only one who embraced a rock-and-roll aesthetic; celebrities like Avril Lavigne and JoJo Siwa also sported edgy looks. 

Siwa, 20, stood out in the crowd with dramatic black eye makeup and a rhinestone-studded bodysuit reminiscent of the band KISS. 

Lavigne, 39, exuded punk rock vibes in a graphic tee, black cargo pants, and lace-up boots, complemented by straight platinum locks and her signature black winged eyeliner.

Rapper Ice Spice, 24, also went for a bold ensemble, sizzling in a sheer black bandeau top and figure-hugging maxi skirt accentuated by a textured black jacket and accessorized with a black cross. The star took home the best new hip-hop artist award.

Among other attendees were music icons Beyoncé and Cher, who both won special awards at the ceremony. 

Beyoncé caused a stir when she thanked Sister Rosetta Tharpe before anyone else in her innovator award acceptance speech, leading fans to speculate that the third album in her three-act album cycle will be rock and roll. Sister Rosetta Tharpe, a singer and guitarist who was popular in the 1930s and 40s, is often called ‘the godmother of rock and roll.’ 

She accepted the award from Stevie Wonder, who she thanked for playing the harmonica on a track on her new Cowboy Carter album.

She continued: ‘Innovation starts with a dream, but then you have to execute that dream and that road can be very bumpy. Being an innovator is saying what everyone believes is impossible.

‘Being an innovator often means being criticised, which often will test your mental strength. Being an innovator is leaning on faith and trusting that God will catch you and guide you.

‘So, to all the record labels, every radio station, every award show, my hope is that we’re more open to the joy and liberation that comes from enjoying art, with no preconceived notions.’

Honoured with the icon award, Cher, 77, epitomised star quality in a crystal-adorned bodysuit paired with black pants, while her boyfriend Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, 38, donned a sleek black pinstripe suit to match.

When accepting the award, Cher hit back at haters who criticise her tendency to repeat outfits. 

‘There are people who say, “Doesn’t that b***h have more than one pair of pants?”‘ she said, laughing.

‘I’ve had these pants for 40 years. I thought we should come here and accept this award together.’

Acknowledging her iconic legacy, Cher said she’s ‘lucky to have people that have stayed with me all these years.’

The star got vulnerable, saying: ‘I don’t usually talk about it, but I have been down and out so many times you could not believe it.’

She continued: ‘Dropped by record companies, couldn’t get a job… they said, “Oh, she’s so over.” But I never gave up my dream.’

Cher accepted the award from her longtime friend Meryl Streep, who she’s known since the pair starred in the 1983 drama Silkwood together.

Some fans felt that the range of stars on the red carpet was decidedly retro, with many old school stars taking the spotlight throughout the evening.

Justin Timberlake also took the stage, performing Selfish and No Angels for the rowdy crowd of A-listers.

Taylor Swift was up for the most awards, with nine nominations, including Song of the Year and Artist of the Year. She won Artist of the Year and Pop Artist of the Year, among others. In her video acceptance speech, she told fans they could expect exciting new things soon.

Avril Lavigne came face-to-face with a topless stage invader at the Juno Awards on Monday night.

The Canadian punk pop star was introducing musician AP Dhillon to the stage at Canada’s alternative to the Grammys at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, when she realised she wasn’t alone.

She was joined by a protestor dressed in pink cargo trousers and a matching headscarf, who had ‘save the green belt’ written on their back, seemingly in protest of the Ontario government’s proposal to build at least 50,000 new homes on 7,400 acres of the protective land of Greenbelt.

On her front, where she stickers covering her modesty and a countdown written across her chest, proclaiming: ‘Our clock is ticking. 0745 days left.’

The photos show the stage invader enjoying her moment, throwing her arms up as she faced the crowd and even posing cheekily with her tongue stuck out behind Avril, who was smiling.

However, the singer-songwriter was in a business-like mood and upon seeing the individual swiftly told them to ‘get the f**k off’.

They were then escorted from the stage.

Later, during her acceptance speech for the fan choice award, Avril, 38, quipped: ‘Now nobody try anything this time. I’ll f**k a b***h up.’

Marvel actor Simu Liu hosted the bash and thanked the Sk8r Boi hitmaker, who has been in the headlines recently for her new romance with rapper Tyga, for ‘handling that topless lady like a champion.’

Avril stunned her fans when she split with fiancé Mod Sun in February after getting together in 2020.

Just weeks later she was pictured out and about with Tyga during Paris Fashion Week, where they were also snapped kissing at a party.

The Weeknd was the big winner of the awards, winning a total of five Junos, bringing his total to 22.

It makes the Blinding Lights hitmaker, 33, the second most-awarded star in Junos history, with Anne Murray, 77, leading the way with 25 wins.

Four of his awards were announced at the Juno Opening Night Awards, which was live-streamed from the Edmonton Convention Centre at the weekend, and they were artist of the year, songwriter of the year, single of the year for Sacrifice, and pop album for Dawn FM.

At the main ceremony, the megastar was honoured with album of the year for Dawn FM, however, he was not there to accept the prize.

The evening also saw Nickelback inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, virtually by Ryan Reynolds and Michael Bublé.

Frontman Chad Kroeger, 48, said: ‘Returning home to Alberta, back to where everything started for us, is truly a full circle, milestone moment for the band.

‘We take so much pride in our Canadian roots and are extremely humbled by this honour.’

The Junos had previously caught heat for nominating Arcade Fire for group of the year, despite sexual assault allegations against frontman Win Butler.

Butler was accused of sexual misconduct by five people last year but insisted the encounters between them were consensual.

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences had said that while it takes the allegations ‘very seriously’, they still wanted to ‘honour’ Butler’s bandmates.

Ultimately, the prize went to Arkells.
